Potent Muscle Building with SARMs, Qualia, and ARX
Finally, the path to muscle gains without the downsides of steroids is becoming a reality. Modern science allows us to do things we’ve never been able to do. Are you going to take advantage of the new technologies?
After being an ectomorph my whole life and finding it nearly impossible to gain weight or muscle, I was finally able to pack on almost 12 pounds of muscle very quickly without gaining fat using 3 key tools. Starting from 149lbs and a metabolism that makes it very hard to gain muscle, I was able to move up to over 162lbs in 5 weeks.
So many of you are interested in gaining lean muscle mass and losing fat, so I’ve been experimenting with ways to do this. For women, you are not going to bulk up unless you have plans to spend a lot of time in the gym and eat excess protein to signal to your body to gain lots of muscle mass. Guys, if you want to use this time to bulk up and gain more muscle and mass than I did, my opinion is that I would cycle the SARMs for another 4 weeks beyond what I did and increase your carbs, protein, and calories to ensure a positive nitrogen balance and a signal of excess calories to your body.
I’ve used SARMs 3 times in the last year. Check out this article detailing the results of my first trial and discussing how to use SARMs. The first two times I did not see any gain in weight or muscle. I did see a gain in strength and bone density with no gain in fat, but I was looking for muscle gain. This 3rd time, I changed up all the tools and gained 5 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks according to DexaScan, without eating additional calories or loading up on carbs. After 6 weeks, I saw a total gain of 11lbs based on scale weight.

My strength went up massively as measured using the ARX. ARX is able to track maximum weight lifted and maximum total session output. Using Qualia before a session really did have a quantifiable impact on my ARX sessions. My max leg press and chest press went up a ton according to the ARX tracking software.
Chris also used the ARX for a few weeks before stacking Qualia with his ARX use and also saw large increases in his maximum and total session work output.
As you can see below, I got a full body workout in only 14 minutes. Theoretically, you could do this once per week, on your lunch break and be done with strength training for the week. Trust me, that was a hard workout and there is No WAY I could have done, nor wanted to do any more lifting that day. By the time I was done with bicep curls I couldn’t even pull the bar off the floor and my entire body was shaking. Every time I take a month or two off ARX, it takes me three days to recover from a workout to the point where I even think about working out again.

Why Use Biohacking Techniques to Quantify Results?
12 months ago and again 6 months ago, I experimented with my first SARM, LGD-4033, at both 10mg and 20mg doses for a month each. I ate extra calories and carbs. I definitely looked more muscular after each month that I used it. See the full article with results HERE. I did not gain any additional muscle mass, even though it definitely appeared, from the photos that I did. This is the power of using biohacking to quantify results. External appearances would suggest I gained muscle, but quantified testing said otherwise. I also quantified using the ARX for those past experiments to determine if I was gaining strength and increasing my total workload. The ARX was able to track my max lifts and total output for each session, and even though I didn’t gain any muscle mass, nor did I gain any fat, and my strength increased. This is great for someone looking to gain strength without fat or muscle gain, but unfortunately, that was not what I was after.
In the first rounds of SARMs use, I really did look more buff but, I did not, in fact, gain any muscle, as measured using DEXAScan technology.
My goal was to gain muscle mass. In May, I decided to take a few months off SARMs and cycle them completely out of my system and also to stop using the ARX.
All summer, I focused on Kettlebell training and deadlifting. Through working with my teacher, Ron Morriss, I increased my deadlift from 315lbs to 350lbs in 6 weeks, completely off SARMs and without packing on additional bodyweight.

SARMs Experiment #2

I took 24mg every single morning (1mL) from the bottle.
It’s actually recommended to take half a dropper in the morning and half a dropper before bed. 12.5mg in the morning and 12.5mg before bed because MK-677 increases HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and HGH spikes multiple times overnight. Taking MK-677 closer to bedtime could increase the spikes of HGH overnight. However, MK-677 stays in the body for 24 hours, so I didn’t see a need to split the dose, and actually I forgot about this fact during use. I took step 1 of Qualia within a half hour of waking. I took step 2 with food at the same time I took the MK-677 and RAD-140. On days when I used the ARX, I timed step 1 and 2 of Qualia to be taken an hour before I used the ARX. This was only once a week.

I used DEXAFIT MPLS’s ARX once a week. Usually at 11 am, on my lunch break. Each ARX session was about 15 minutes in length with 6-8 minutes of actual work. The rest of the time was rest between sets. I performed 1 set of Leg Press, Chest Press, Row, Bicep Curl and another version of Chest press. Each set was to failure and each set lasted 90 seconds. Usually I failed well before 90 seconds and could barely exert any force toward the end of the set. This improved with each session. Because ARX is a full body workout and because it is so taxing on the system, I only performed this once a week. See below for more ARX details. If you’ve never been on ARX you simply have no idea how powerful a tool this really is. If you can squat 700 pounds, that means you can certainly lift over 1000lbs off the rack, but likely wouldn’t be able to come out of the bottom of the squat with that much. ARX overcomes this and gives you the maximum weight you can move at each millisecond of each lift. You can make huge inroads in less time in a way you could never do with traditional weights or machines.
I used DEXAFIT MPLS to perform a DEXASCAN before and after my month on the SARMs, Qualia, and ARX.
DEXAScan allowed me to track my bone density, muscle mass and fat mass to quantify real improvements versus just visual, puffy or swole muscles. I was able to see if I really did gain any real muscle mass over the month.
Breakfast – For the whole month my breakfast was exactly the same, unless I traveled for work. 3 Plantain Pancakes (plantains, coconut oil, cassava flour, tiger nut flour, eggs, baking soda) with butter, cinnamon and almond butter on top; Bulletproof Decaf Coffee Beans made into coffee with the following added in: 1tbs Brain Octane Oil, 1 scoop Whey Protein Powder, 2 raw eggs, 3g creatine, 1 Scoop Kids Superfood Greens Powder, 8 drops liquid Dark chocolate Stevia.
Lunch – Chicken or Beef Bone Broth blended with various veggies. 4oz of Salmon, Cod or turkey added in plus sauerkraut, 2 85% dark chocolate squares with almond butter.
Dinner – Two 4oz grass-fed beef burgers, steamed broccoli and greens with butter and apple cider vinegar, 1 medium sweet potato with butter, cinnamon and salt.
Snacks – rarely did I snack. If I did, it was nutcrackers with almond or cashew butter.
4 days a week of Kettlebell. 20 minutes of Swing, Snatch, clean and press, and/or chest press. I performed these completely outdoors every single time.
1 day a week of ARX, usually on a Monday around 11 am and after a dose of Qualia.
No Cardio or HIIT for the month.
1 day a week of empty hand – pull ups, push ups, ring dips, ring pushups, pistols.
Deadlifting 1 day a week – 135 for 5. 225 for 5 for 3 sets.
What Makes it Special
MK-677 is not a SARM or a peptide. It is a ghrelin antagonist and mimics growth hormone in the body. Supposedly it can increase growth hormone and IGF-1 without increasing cortisol and increase lean body mass without increasing fat. Because the body’s own production of growth hormone is enhanced, this is different than taking exogenous growth hormone and likely safer. By antagonizing the ghrelin receptor, MK-677 will increase appetite and increases IGF-1 which aids in muscle growth.
Known as Ibutamoren, this compound is said to also improve bone density, longevity, cognitive ability, strength, and metabolism. Being investigated for use in Alzheimer’s, it can also help give athletes and unfair advantage in competitive sports.

RAD-140, also known as Testolone acts similar in the body to testosterone, but supposedly without the adverse effects of hair loss, ball shrinkage and more. The theory with laboratory designed peptides like SARMs is that they are supposed to have the androgenic benefits of steroids without the downsides. In other words, you get the anabolic increase in muscle mass with little to no fat gain without the negative androgenic effects from testosterone.
According to the interwebs, Rad-140 has the following benefits:
Increased muscle gain (which I experienced)
Increased Endurance and stamina
Better than testosterone for anabolic effect
If you haven’t put it together yet, nootropics in sports is huge! At first used for electronic sports (aka video gaming) because it helped with focus and hand-eye coordination, nootropics are now used for all sports to massive effect.

In summer 2017, I used Qualia right before my first Spartan Sprint. I ran with the Elite wave, without any training, and managed to finish in 57 minutes, while the average finish time was 2 hours and 40 minutes. I placed 11th overall in my age group and 42nd out of the Elite Spartans.
I also used Qualia paired with Ketones, phenylpiracetam, hydrogen water and a few more things to finish in the top 15% of the Spartan World Championship Race in Lake Tahoe, CA in September. I hadn’t trained at altitude and hadn’t run more than 8 times in the last 7 years.
Qualia also contains Huperzine A, which pairs well with MK-677. Because MK-677 increases HGH, your body will produce Somatostatin to mitigate the high HGH levels, thus reducing the potential impact the HGH will have. Huperzine A can suppress Somatostatin and thus allow the increased HGH to go to work on producing gains.
The increased focus and motivation from Qualia helped to dial in my exercise sessions with laser focus and keep my energy high, whether I was fasted or fed during the workout.
I used the ARX for the pure ability to max out my lifts and eek out the benefits from the use of the SARMs stack. Because the SARMs should ideally help me recover faster, much like a steroid would, I wanted to push the limits of my workouts. Usually, it’s recommended to perform ARX once every 5-7 days with no workouts in between. I chose to do every 7 days, while not stopping my current workouts.
While I was sore the first 2 weeks, by week two I felt normal during all my workouts.
The results were both noticeable and quantifiable. Nearly everyone I know comments on how much bigger I looked and many random women comment on my appearance or simply stare at me.
In addition, the DEXASCAN showed an increase of 5 lbs of muscle.
Fit 3D results showed an increase in muscle size of nearly 3 inches in my chest and 2 inches in my hips.
My body fat went up slightly but is still only 9.9% overall, based on the DexaScan. When I tested my bodyfat three weeks later at Bulletproof Labs using the bodyfat device they have, which they say is closely correlated with Dexa, it came in at 4.6%.
Ideally, I’m shooting for 10% body fat, as 10-12% for men is most correlated with longevity, so I hit exactly where I wanted to be via the Dexascan, but came in too low when using the Bulletproof Labs device. I’d like to get my fat mass higher, as it’s possible I lost fat during the Spartan World Championship Race. I weighed in at 162lbs before the race and 153lbs 1 day after the race. I’ve since gained 2 lbs back, but I’m down 7lbs since running the race. Did I lose a lot of fat during the 19.5mile race?
Bone Density stayed the same during the entire trial, in the ideal range.
Overall I gained between 5-12 lbs of muscle and only 1 pound of fat. My body composition noticeably improved. After 1.5 months, I’ve held onto the gains, minus what I lost during the Spartan World Championship Race. Stacking Qualia with SARMs led to improved performance in the gym and includes substances that help with muscle growth when using HGH mimicking substances.
Personally, I would use this stack again, and run it for two full months at the same dose I used in this experiment, but I would break up the MK-677 into two half doses, one at night and one in the morning.
