Favorite Nootropics of Top Entrepreneurs and Executives
Have you ever wondered how the world’s top entrepreneurs and executives always seem to be one step ahead of their competition?
How do they have almost superhuman like focus and seemingly endless amounts of creativity to keep churning out multi-million dollar ideas while managing the stress associated with all of it?
Most of them will tell you it just takes hard work and determination.
What many of them fail to mention is that its much easier with a little help from their favorite nootropics.
Here are a few things they use nootropics for.
- Brain Energy
- Stress Reduction
Who Uses These Things?
Many people take nootropics but don’t tell anyone. It can be difficult to know who is supplementing. There’s no mandatory drug testing for corporate athletes pulling ahead of you at work. But our experience, research and conversations with others tell us that many people are supplementing with nootropics.
Students – though we don’t recommend them for anyone under 25 (our brains develop until we are 25 and it’s not a good idea to experiment with these until after that point).
The Silicon Valley Tech crowd.
Wall Street Executives.
Biohackers – like us.
Professional card players.
Anyone who wants to learn something quickly or be on top of their game.
Different Nootropics For Different Purposes
We take different nootropics for specific purposes to enhance any number of different things.
Lets take a look at some of the top choices among these hard charging creators.
Remember, we’re not doctors. Please work with a qualified medical professional before going on any supplementation plan.
- Brain Energy
- Sleep Deprivation
This nootropic is touted as the inspiration behind the movie Limitless.
It is normally prescribed to people with narcolepsy and shift work disorder as a wakefulness promoting drug. Don’t confuse it with other more stimulating medication like Adderall or Ritalin though. I haven’t had many stimulating effects from it at all.
Unlike Ritalin and Adderall, modafinil isn’t an amphetamine, so it doesn’t flood your brain with dopamine that can cause the “high”, subsequent fall and addictive, habit forming characteristics.
This used to be the “best kept secret of Silicon Valley, but its no longer a secret. Top performers who used modafinil used to be pretty hesitant to admit it. That has been changing over recent years though.
If you can’t get your doctor to prescribe modafinil to you and don’t want to take the risk of ordering it from overseas, there is an alternative.
Adrafinil is a prodrug for modafinil. That means that it increases the level of modafinil in your body. Unlike modafinil, the noticeable effects of adrafinil build over a period of a few days to a few months so may not be immediately noticeable.
Because adrafinil is metabolized by the liver, I would recommend to take it with milk thistle to minimize any negative effects it could cause.
Where To Get Modafinil and Adrafinil
In the US, you need a prescription for modafinil. There are quite a few online sources where you can have it shipped to you from overseas. Some people report good experiences dealing with these companies, others have been taken advantage of, so try them at your own risk.
- Reduces social anxiety
This is one of my favorite nootropics that I have use quite a bit and still do on a regular basis.
I won’t go in to much detail on this one other than to say that I mainly use it to boost my creativity and if I have to speak in front of a lot of people.

- Enhanced Sleep
Choline is great by itself, but absolutely essential if you are going to be experimenting with other nootropics. This is because many of them deplete your brain’s levels of acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a major neurotransmitter in your brain and throughout your body. Choline comes in many different forms. In my opinion, the best form is Alpha-GPC, but you can try them out to see which one works best for you.
- Choline Bitartrate
While you can get choline from foods like eggs, beef liver and raw dairy, its best to also supplement if you are going to be using other nootropics.
Choline sources are extremely safe, but for a small percentage of users can cause headache and a tightness in the jaw. This is because some people are choline dominant and already have high levels of acetylcholine in their brain.

Sulbutiamine is a synthetic version of vitamin B-1 or thiamine.
If you need a boost to your willpower and energy, this may be a great one for you.
It can be of great benefit if you are working long hours or start to drag by the end of the day.
Sulbutiamine is especially useful if you know you need to hit the gym and need a little help with your strength and endurance after a hard day at the office.

- Mental Endurance
This is one of the lesser known and used nootropics. Don’t let that speak to its nootropic benefit though.
This is one of my secret weapons when I have an impossible deadline to meet and need to be super focused on the same task for a long period of time.
I find that it eliminates the mental fatigue and burnout that comes from long hours of mental work that would usually cause me to become tired and lose focus and concentration.
Pyritinol is a synthetic version of vitamin B-6. It works by aiding in glucose uptake. It is also a powerful antioxidant that leads to positive overall brain health
It works synergistically with a choline source and is usually taken together.
