This Biohacking Box is for Every Adventure
Biohacking Box from Quarterly by Abel James
This is the third Biohacking Box that Quarterly has sent out. It was put together by Abel James.
I don’t think we’re related, but you never know.
Here’s what he has to say about this box.
I don’t leave home without my Survival Pack of food, spices, supplements and other goodies that support healthy habits. I’m proud to partner with Quarterly to help you pack yours.
I can’t argue with that line of thinking. I’m a lifelong adventurer and know the best way to prevent bad things from happening is to be prepared for anything.
Even though there is no way to prepare for everything, it helps to have the right gear to handle situations that might pop up.
As you can see from the picture, its jam packed full of stuff to aid you on your next adventure.
Here is what came in this box:
Snacks, Fat Bombs & Protein
Taking along highly nutritious food to help you perform your best is a necessity for any adventure. Unfortunately its sometimes challenging with limited space in your pack. These companies have taken that challenge and delivered some highly nutritious and portable super foods.
fatCoffee from Ninja Goat Nutrition
Who doesn’t love butter coffee or as we call it Coffee on Steroids.
I added this to my coffee this morning and have to say that this stuff tastes great!
It came with four packs of their vanilla flavor.
Here’s the ingredients:
- Organic Ghee
- Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
- MCT Oil
- Organic Powdered Goats Milk
- Organic Cocoa Butter
- Organic Ground Vanilla Bean Powder
This would be great for traveling!
Just pour it in your coffee and shake or use the ninja style and whisk it for 45-60 seconds.
Beef Jerky from The New Primal
Beef jerky is probably my number one adventure food. Its light and doesn’t require cooking or refrigeration.
The New Primal is doing it right with grass fed beef and all natural ingredients.
Raw Coconut Oil and Butter from Artisana Organics
I hope everyone is aware by now of the great benefits of coconut oil.
I got two packets of the butter and one packet of oil.
Great to throw in the backpack!
Collagen Peptides from Vital Proteins
Collagen is a great source of protein and anti-aging benefits.
It contributes to healthier skin, hair and nails, keeps bones and joints healthy, and is also great for your overall health.
The one thing I love about collagen is that you can stick it in your coffee which is something you can’t do with whey protein.
Leaf Lard from Vital Proteins
Leaf lard is the highest grade of lard you can get and doesn’t taste like pork which is what normal lard would taste like.
This stuff has a very high smoke point and is a great source of healthy fat.
This will be going in to my pack to take camping in a few weeks.
Beef Bone Broth from Kettle & Fire
I was so excited to see this!
I love bone broth and it has become a staple around our house.
The big issue with it is that when we make it, we make large batches and throw it in glass jars to freeze so it doesn’t go bad. Packing frozen glass jars is not an option.
This stuff comes in what looks like an oversized juice box which can fit in to my pack.
I’ll probably stick it between my clothes though just do it doesn’t get punctured by other stuff in there a all leak out.
That would suck.
Even though I can think of worst things than bone broth smelling clothes, a wild animal might mistake me for a meal!
Ventresca from Vital Choice
One big source of food when I am adventuring in to the wilderness is canned fish like tuna and sardines.
Dark Chocolate Almond Bar
I tried these at the Paleo f(x) conference and absolutely loved them.
When living out of your backpack, you always have to conscious of the things you bring and their weight. All of these items are lightweight and can really come in handy on your next adventure.
One of the biggest problems with making my coffee on the go is not having my blender.
That issue seems to be solved with this small hand mixer/frother.
This thing is super lightweight and portable and won’t take up much room in my bag.
I’m glad I didn’t get around to buying one before my trip to Chicago last weekend since this was here when I got home.
Massage Balls from TUNE UP FITNESS
Most of my adventures include at a bare minimum, TONS of walking.
These things are great to massage out sore and stiff muscles.
Spice Missile from GSI Outdoors
You can’t bring the whole spice cabinet with you on most of your adventures.
Titanium Folding Spork from TOAKS
No adventure pack is complete without a spork!
This one folds up in to a small sack and is super lightweight and durable.
This box was definitely much better than the last Biohacker Box I got from them.
I hope this article has given you some ideas for super easy snacks and things to aid you on your next adventure.
Life is an adventure!
